Wal-Mart Recalls Electronic Baby Doll

With less than a month until Easter stores have placed on their shelves the seasonal holiday toys, decorations and treats. However if you have purchased a My Sweet Baby electronic baby doll to be placed in someone’s Easter basket this year, you are urged to bring it back in for a refund.

The My Sweet Love/My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care Baby Doll has been discovered to pose a burn hazard to consumers. The circuit board located in the doll’s chest can overheat causing increased risk of burn.

The My Sweet Love doll was available for purchase at Wal-Mart stores nationwide from August 2012 until March 2014. The doll can be identified by the UPC 6-O4576-16800-5 and a date code which begins WM, which can be found printed on the stuffed article label sewn into the bottom of the doll.

The doll comes in a pink floral dress and matching hat. The electronic component of the doll enabled it to make noises such as babbling, coughing and the cheeks on its face to change color. The doll was sold with accessories that allowed children to pretend to care for the doll.

Thus far there have been 12 reports of injuries, including reports of burns and/or blisters to the thumb. Consumers are encouraged to immediately take the doll from children and remove its batteries. Wal-Mart is providing refunds to consumers who return the doll.
