We just had national safe boating week in May. Boats and personal water crafts are increasingly popular for good times and family recreation. This is especially true in Florida. But, family fun can also pose serious dangers to riders, passengers, and others on the water due to boating accidents. Carelessness of the operators, impairment from drugs and alcohol, and defects in the designs, manufacturing, or warnings of the boats can sometimes cause serious injury and unfortunate losses of life. It is important that every operator and passenger on any type of water craft takes precautions and uses safety and common sense when out on the water. Let’s keep this in mind this summer so we can have a fun filled and safe summer.
