Roadtrek Motorhomes Reports Potential Breaks in Their Brake Lines

Roadtrek Motorhomes Inc. (Roadtrek) has recalled certain model year 2013-2014 RSCM Motorhomes manufactured between February 2013 and December 2013 on Mercedes Sprinter van chassis. The manufacturer has acknowledged that during installation of the coolant lines, the front right brake line may have been unseated from the holder, which would allow the line to make contact with the exhaust gas recirculation tube.

The significance of the brake line making contact is that the contact could result in a hole in the break line, reducing the ability to brake and increase risk of crash.

The company will notify owners of the effected Motorhomes and dealers will inspect for unseated brake lines and secure the lines to remedy this defect.  Brake lines that show evidence of breakdown or holes will be replaced. The manufacturer has not produced a schedule for the notifications but they can be reached at 1-888-762-3873. Consumers who own the effected vehicle as encouraged to inquire and remain cautious in use of the brakes due to the possible existence of the defect.
