TFH Publications, Inc./Nylabone Products Recalls Puppy Starter Kit Due To Possible Salmonella Health Risk (Sat, 25 Apr 2015 23:43:00 -0400) TFH Publications, Inc./Nylabone Products, of Neptune, NJ is recalling one lot of its 1.69 oz. package of the Puppy Starter Kit dog chews, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can affect animals ingesting the product and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.

The particles were identified as iron oxide. This recall is being carried out to the user level (both human and veterinary).

Ball today warned consumers not to consume La Clarita Queseria Queso Fresco “Fresh Cheese” made by Queseria La Poblanita, Inc., 216 E. 117th St., New York, NY, 10035, due to possible Staphylococcus aureus contamination. To date, no illnesses are known by the Department of Agriculture and Markets to be associated with this product.

Blue Bell Creameries Voluntarily Expands Recall to Include All of its Products Due to Possible Health Risk (Tue, 21 Apr 2015 10:01:00 -0400) Blue Bell Ice Cream of Brenham, Texas, is voluntarily recalling all of its products currently on the market made at all of its facilities including ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet and frozen snacks because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

West Liberty Foods Recalls Grilled Chicken Breast Products Due to Possible Foreign Matter Contamination (2015-04-23T15:00:00-0500) West Liberty Foods, a Tremonton, Utah establishment, is recalling approximately 34,075 pounds of grilled chicken breast products that may be contaminated with pieces of plastic.

Kayem Foods Recalls Sausage Products Due To Possible Foreign Matter Contamination (2015-04-20T19:21:00-0500) Kayem Foods, a Chelsea, Mass., establishment, is recalling approximately 59,203 pounds of fully cooked chicken sausage products that may be contaminated with pieces of plastic.

Recall Notification Report 065-2015 (Turkey and Beef) (2015-04-20T15:04:43-0500) Michigan Brand, Inc., a Bay City, Mich. establishment, is recalling approximately 737 pounds of turkey and beef products due to misbranding.

Pesticide Product Recalls (Wednesday, 23 April 2008) No product recall announcements listed. (See item below “Consumer Alerts for pesticide products” for additional information.) Pesticide registrants are required to report any potential problems with EPA-registered pesticide products. EPA works with registrants to recall products deemed faulty or substandard or that could potentially cause consumer injury or harm the environmental. Registrants often voluntarily recall products and reformulate or repair potential hazards.
