Parents Beware: American Eagle Has Issued A Recalled On Toddler Clothing

American Eagle Outfitters Inc. has issued a recall of approximately 1,200 toddler girl’s pants and shorts due to a choking hazard due to a metal clasp on the pants.  There is a metal clasp at the waistband and should it detach from the garment it could pose a choking risk to toddlers.

The recall involves a variety of styles of toddler pants. The style numbers that are sewn-in the label under the care/content label can be found inside the waistband of the pants to verify if the clothing falls within the recall.  The recalled style numbers are as follows: 3007; 3012; 3013; 3029; 3030; 3034; 3035.  The pants were sold exclusively at 77kids by American Eagle stores nationwide and online beginning in July 2010.

Though there has yet to be any injuries reported, parents are cautioned and encouraged to remain aware if they have purchased the recalled toddler clothing. If you discover you’ve purchased the recalled style of pants please discontinue use to avoid incident and contact the nearest 77kids for a refund.  For additional information contact American Eagle Outfitters at (888) 307-3672 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
