Mom Claims Molestation by Donald Duck, Settles Lawsuit With Disney

According to Yahoo! News, Disney has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought on by a female tourist who claimed she was groped by Donald Duck during her visit to the Epcot theme park. April Magolon has settled her tourist injury lawsuit against the entertainment giant last week, according to court documents. Magolon, from Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, claimed she was visiting the park with family.

Magolon claimed that Walt Disney Parks and Resorts was responsible for a traumatic experience she suffered when a costumed park employee grabbed her breasts during a May 2008 visit to Epcot in Florida. The woman claimed she had nightmares, digestive problems, post-traumatic stress disorder, flashbacks and nightmares as a result of sexual molestation.

The settlement is confidential and it unclear what sum Magolon accepted from Disney in order to settle the lawsuit. Her personal injury attorney did not return a phone call. U.S. District Judge John Padova dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice. The case brought national attention after Magolon’s complaint alleged that this was one of a long line of similar incidents, including the 2004 molestation of a mother and daughter by a Disney employee costumed as Tigger. Earlier this year, Judge Padova rejected Disney’s motion to dismiss the federal complaint and also refused to transfer the case to the state of Florida.
