Jefferson Man Sues Employer for Personal Injury

According to the Southeast Texas Record, an air conditioner installed who sued his employer for personal injury is set for deposition by the defense. Troy Lakey claims he hurt his back while working for Efficient Systems on July 2007.

Lakey claims he was at a customer’s residence when he suffered a severe herniation of his lumbar spine, allegedly caused by lifting a heavy air conditioning unit component. Lakey and his wife filed a lawsuit against Efficient Systems in 2009, in Jefferson County District Court, per complaint records.
The lawsuit alleges employer negligently failed to provide Lakey with enough equipment to life the unit and failed to properly train him on how to carry out the task without risking injury.

Lakey’s attorney informed the defense that plaintiff plans to take deposition by means of written questions.

The couple is seeking unspecified judgment for past and future pain, suffering, mental anguish, physical disfigurement, physical impairment, medical expenses, and loss of earning capacity, loss of consortium and loss of household services.
