Florida Woman Critically Injured In Car Accident

A woman was severely injured in a car accident in Palm Bay on November 10, according to the Orlando Sentinel. According to reports a police officer noticed a woman walking along Emerson Drive shortly before 5:30 a.m. and gave her a ride back to her broken-down vehicle.

As the woman and the officer were exiting the police cruiser, a Buick traveling westbound collided the car and the woman. The woman suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The officer was uninjured. Identities of those involved were withheld.

Police suspect the woman driving the Buick had fallen asleep at the wheel. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
