Apopka Pedestrian Killed in Hit and Run

Florida Highway Patrol reported arresting a 23 year-old Orlando man in the death of a hit and run accident victim in Apopka resident last Saturday.  The 26 year-old victim was killed standing with his bicycle when he was struck by a 1989 Ford Ranger.  The force of the accident threw the victim about a 150 feet.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene but his SUV was discovered at a motel nearby.  The driver was then arrested at his home and charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident involving a death and driving without a valid driver’s license.  FHP is asking anyone with knowledge of the accident to call them at 407-737-2200.
