Attorney Primrose Coaches Trial Team to Win

On Friday, January 23rd, the Barry Law Trial Team won the prestigious Chester Bedell Mock Trial Competition hosted annually by the Trial Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar. The team comprised of Luis Herrera and James Smeriglio advocating and witnesses Nicole Metzgar-Schall and Will Sepulveda made history by being the first Barry team to win in the thirty-two year history of the competition. This team was coached by Denise Beamer, Jordan Ostroff, and our very own, Attorney Nicholas Primrose. (Coaches pictured below with the trophy). This Barry team faced Stetson and Florida State in the preliminary rounds. They went onto beat the Stetson team in the Quarterfinals, Florida Coastal in the Semifinals, and the other Stetson team in the Finals. Weekly Wrap-up of Recalls 01/18/15-01/24/15

A majority of this week’s recalls listed involve food product recalls, some due to undeclared allergens, while others are due to lack of inspection and/or potential contamination. It is important to be aware of the ingredients in the products you purchase especially for those with allergies to particular items such as peanuts, eggs and dairy. Recalls RSS CR Brands Recalls Mean Green Cleaner and Degreaser Products (21 Jan., 2015) CR Brands recalls Mean Green Cleaner and Degreaser Products due to chemical hazard. The products are labeled “Does not contain Ammonia”, while they may in fact contain Ammonia. The mislabeling can pose a chemical hazard to consumers. The products can be identified by name, size and UPC numbers. Weekly Wrap-up of Recalls 01/11/15-01/17/15

Recalls RSS IKEA Recalls Crib Mattresses  (13 Jan., 2015) IKEA has launched the recall of the subject crib mattresses due to an entrapment risk. The mattresses can create a gab between the mattress and crib ends larger than which is permitted by federal regulations. Thus far two incident have been reported of entrapment, but no injuries associated with the defect. Consumers are encouraged to discontinue use of the mattress if the gap is larger than two fingers width between the crib and mattress. NPD Recalls Dining Chairs (14 Jan., 2015) The recall is due to the legs of the  subject dining chairs being discovered to break unexpectedly presenting a increase risk of injury to consumers. Although no injuries have been reported, the company has received four reports of the chair leg breaking.  Consumers are encouraged to discontinue use of the chairs.
